Summary: The present invention relates to a system and method for continuous caustic production and periodic precipitate removal. The novel process-flow system consists of multiple EED cell connected in series/parallel or their combination. The proposed method has flexibility of (i) isolating any foulant from the cell without disrupting the process, and (ii) separately collecting gas(es) produced due to electrode reactions from each cell, integrating each gas separately in a common stream followed by its utilization as renewable energy source or acidification of process stream would make the process more economic. The series of electro-electrodialysis (EED) cells (loop) are arranged in specific sequence for continuous caustic production and periodic precipitate removal (if any).
